Goodbye, crawl...
(would someone like to volunteer to come paint all the trim in my house?)
Hello, WALK!!!
Lilli started walking halfway through her 10th month. Which is GREAT!!! But also means it is next to impossible to snag a decent (in focus) photo these days. She is seriously almost running, which is so crazy!! & it is also funny to be in a room & have someone so tiny walk in like 'hey, what's going on in here I should know about?' She casually walked in to the bathroom last night while I was bathing Emmett with a mouth full of toilet paper. What?? Yeah, we need to brush up on the baby-proofing.
She is still a little joyful delight in our house. She really does have the sweetest most cheery disposition. We've decided to go ahead & keep her.
She is still blabbering a lot, but no new words-- well, she did start saying "mamamamamamaa", but I can't remember if she was doing that when I did her 10 month post :) Yes, I remember few details of this little life!!! And it is FLYING by!!! :(
She is a dancer, which makes me so happy & proud. She'll do the bump up & down move, the hip slap & the toe tap. I actually observed my two littles having a dance party today & it made me SO HAPPY.
She is also really in to scrunching up her nose right now. It is so cute & makes her seem so much more expressive. It's funny.
Still only 2 teeth.
Finally finally finally fitting in to 6-12 mos, & even 9 mos clothes!!!
The thing with Lilli is, she has things figured out on an unsuspecting level-- she will just get stuff that you don't know she's gotten. I can only think of lame too-wordy examples, so make what you want of that statement. She has no tricks, but she has your number, believe me.
...
On to other things:
Emmett started preschool. He LOVES it. Loves it!! I am so thankful!! He doesn't even have a backward glance for me when I drop him off :) I am so excited for him to be w/other kids & learn new things on his own. He has changed so much already & the year's barely started. Three of the big changes:
1. He sings more.
2. He draws & wants to color more.
3. He has started to be more of a conversationalist. Not across the board, mind you, but definitely more chatty-- today we were outside playing cars & he just started telling me about what we had done today. That may seem like not a big deal, but it was the first time it's ever happened! I loved it.
Here he is DYING to get in the car to go to school on his first day. I made the mistake of telling him right when he woke up that he was going-- so there was no breakfast & nothing but "school? shoes?" for the almost 2 hours of morning before we left. I don't make that mistake any more.
Here's our sweet little Lilli in one of the few cute outfits she has. This was the bridge time before free walking-- she would pace this hall w/a hand on the wall ALL DAY. One day she did it with a tambourine in the other hand slapping it on her hip-- this was my favorite day :)
Please notice the painted toenails. That took some mad skillz, yo.
We got the joy of seeing our sweet Alyssa close enough to her b-day to celebrate a little!! We love you! & my kids finally got to meet the greatness that she's married to! Thanks for coming & come back!! (we finally documented a visit w/a photo!!)
this is just a cute mid-month face...
& here she is on her 11 mos b-day. Obviously it is easiest for me to snap her while she is trapped in the chair. So there she is.
Oh, & a few of her walking at the bottom.
I really really really can't believe that the next time you'll hear from me she'll be ONE.
