Well, Thanksgiving week included a stomach bug for Dave and colds for Emily and Emmett. Emily, of course, was looking on the bright side -- grateful that she and Emmett didn't get Dave's bug.

Emily's mom Pam arrived on Saturday, and they plan to enjoy a good meal tonight before the week's events begin on Tuesday. Emily will be at the hospital by 11:30 a.m. to have the filter inserted. A nurse told her today that the procedure itself lasts only five minutes, but with prep, etc., the whole thing takes about five hours. She will be home Tuesday night.

Wednesday could be very uncomfortable as Emily follows orders to prepare her body for surgery. Let's pray against that discomfort! I'll also be praying for the Lord to surround her with his peace and to provide minimal discomfort during Tuesday's procedure. May her body be fully poised for successful surgery, with no blood clot complications, and ready to receive the gift of restored health.
